Site Description:
My name is Daniel Brumbaugh Keeney. I am a youth at Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren in Elgin, Illinois. I have not been baptized as a member on account of my age, although I like to think I’m better versed in Brethren theology and history than the average member. Both the Brumbaugh and Keeney sides of my family can be traced back to Germany in the early 18th century, and I understand that they were both Brethren from their immigration, if not before. I have attended Annual Conference almost every year I have been alive, and try to attend every possible Brethren event at the local, district, regional, and national levels. I generally find my beliefs are in accordance with more historical Brethren positions, many aspects of Brethren theology have changed where I would claim they should not have. We’re too worldly, but I am still pleased to find the Brethren attentive to the Will of God. I take some pride from disagreeing with everyone, and always appreciate finding new things to find flaws in.
