Citylights is an independent public art project utilising permanent lightbox exhibition sites and produces ephemeral events focusing on collaboration, street art, and emerging artists. Citylights is operational since 1996 and has exhibited work by more than 400 artists. Sites in Hosier Lane and Centre Place are notorious as outdoor galleries, added to daily by countless artists, and hailed as the No.1 cultural attraction in Australia by Lonely Planet in 2007.
Citylights is directed and cofounded by Andy Mac. In 2005 Andy founded Until Never - an indoor space for outside artists.
CITYLIGHTS PROJECTS currently coordinate four permanent projects:

Representing art of the streets and fine Australian and international art.

Currently featuring the Outside the Square project, staged in Sydney in 2004. We are working on an all new website which features the entire Citylights archives. Due to go online later this year.
CITYLIGHTS OFFSITE
Citylights coordinates street and public art projects at offsite locations, and educational and academic programs in collaboration with various institutions and organisations.
Citylights also produce printed and digital publications.
