Richard Burke Jones, a native and resident of Newburyport, MA., is a realist painter who is concentrating on historical scenes. He has researched, designed and painted aerial views and historical scenes of 19th Century New England towns. Additionally, Richard has painted many portraits, interiors and landscapes in oil and watercolor. In undergraduate study (Holy Cross College) he studied philosophy and art. In graduate study (Tufts University/Museum School) he concentrated on design, drawing, painting and art education. Subsequently he studied classical drawing and painting with Robert Cormier of the Boston School, portraiture with Daniel Green and watercolor with John Pike.
