Mission and objectives
Argentina Elections 2007 originated from Peru Elections 2006, a previous publication that followed the 2006 Peruvian presidential elections.
The central objective of Argentina Elections 2007 is to analyze the 2007 Argentine presidential elections. In addition, we seek to strengthen and deepen the public debate about the Argentine electoral regime and its influence in the political system.
In this regard, it is our hope that those interested in learning more about the 2007 elections will find in this website the necessary information to satisfy their curiosity. The content is directed to scholars, elections specialists, journalists, the general public and voters in particular.
Contents and methodology
The material published in Argentina Elections 2007 is classified in two sections:
1. Analysis: articles written by the researchers and journalist teams of Argentina Elections 2007.
2. News: reports, columns, studies and other articles that appear in both Argentina and world media regarding the elections.
The articles written by our team are wide-ranging: some are our own analysis of the elections and others comment on the news published by local and international media. We also include material from workshops, conferences and seminars dealing with the electoral situation. In addition, we will include special studies and interviews of election-related individuals such as scholars, political, business and union leaders, members of non-governmental organization, etc.
The material reproduced from other media, be it written, electronic, audiovisual, or from local or international sources, provides the user with last minute information, local and international perspectives, and the media’s general treatment of the presidential elections. Moreover, the reproduced materials directly reference many of the articles written by our team. The sources are properly and rigorously acknowledged
Languages
Argentina Elections 2007’s content is in Spanish and in English. Given the objective of the site and the origin of the members of our team, many of the articles are exclusively in Spanish. Other articles are published only in English and others in both languages.
