“If you always give you will always have.”—
It may come as a surprise that for many years after I remarried we lived very poor. We lived in a old single wide trailer and drove a car provided by my in-laws. They are the best in-laws ever!!! One reason we lived in the small trailer was because we didn’t make very much money and we believed if we put every bit of money we had into a business venture that one day we would be able to afford anything we wanted. I have to say we tried many different business ventures that didn’t make it. For years I thought we were crazy for trying. Cursed even.LOL I even went back to school for a while so I could become a nurse. It was soon apparent I was too afraid of needles and cried easily when anyone got hurt. Obviously this wasn’t the path God had planned for me.
So since I never went to college or thought I was very smart I had to return to what I could do and that was cleaning houses for people and trying to start a business that would succeed. Well after 8 years of many attempts and failures my husband and I finally started a successful business which led us to a second business. Both of these have been very successful, www.lipnotes.com and www.bigkahunanative.com
Then to make life sweeter and richer God brought Scentsy wickless candles into my life a year ago. I have never had more joy than I have had working my Scentsy business making friends with incredible people. Scentsy has also caused me to grow personally and the financial rewards have been great. So what does all of this have to do with today’s quote. Really it’s a little background into me and my life.
See I have always enjoyed picking up little gifts or cards that remind me of people I know and love. Of course this always cost money and at the same time I didn’t have a lot of money. So about nine years ago I decided in January that I was going to save my money and not buy things for my friends and family. I have to say that was not a fun year. In fact I think it was also one of our most difficult years financially speaking. By the time January came rolling around again I decided to go back to what brought me joy, GIVING. So when I found a sign the other day that said: “If you always give you will always have.” I knew without a shadow of a doubt that this was true. Not only have my husband and I been tremendously blessed financially we have been greatly blessed with happiness and friends.
So I challenge you as you face this New Year especially in these difficult economic times that you will continue to give. Give even more than you have in the past and see what happens to your heart and in your life. I also challenge you to read this article on giving. It was written by an economist who wanted to prove that giving makes you poorer not richer like all successful entrepreneurs say. To read the article go to: http://marriottschool.byu.edu/marriottmag/winter08/features/speeches1.cfm
Email me what you think. I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on giving.

The most important gift we can give to others is permission to believe in themselves. And that starts by believing in yourself.
Believe in yourself. Believe You are a child of God a child of a King. You are of royal birth. As royalty you are blessed with great gifts.
Believe that you have a purpose to bless the lives of others with your gifts.
If I could tell you one thing it would be to believe in yourself. Believe that you have everything you need with in you to create greatness!! And then go forward in 2009 and shine like the offspring of a King. After all you are His child.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”—Marianne Williamson

I just finished watching a Hallmark movie called “The Christmas Choir” it is based on a true story about an accountant who ends up starting a choir made up of homeless men. Their story and journey are incredible. Their accomplishments despite their odds is inspiring.
In the beginning of the movie a nun asks the accountant what the purpose of life is. He answered to be happy? She said the purpose of life is to make a difference. I believe with all my heart that this is true. I also believe all of us carry within ourselves the power to make a difference. That we have something to give that will make the world a better place.
On this New Years I wish for you to believe in yourself and the power you have to change lives. If you so desire to accept the power that is within in you, you can better yourself, your life and the lives of many.
Remember these two thoughts as you start the year 2009:
“Be the change you want to see.” and say to yourself : “If it’s to be it’s up to me.”
Happy New Year and God bless you!!!!

Are you excited about the New Year? Think of all the wonderful things God wants to do in your life - and feel confident that ” God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (Philippians 1:6).—*Source: A young, unknown African pastor from Zimbabwe, martyred in 1990 for his faith.
God has a powerful purpose for us all. What God needs from us is a willing heart and the courage to do what He would have us do. If we do step out of our comfort zone and walk in Faith we will find ourselves a year from now embarking on New Years 2010 in awe because of all we have accomplished with God. So as you make resolutions for this 2009 New Years turn your heart to God and trust in Him and this will be a year you will never forget.
It’s important to note that where God begins to take you may be scary and you may feel totally under qualified. This is totally part of the journey and to be expected so buck up and go for it! You can do it! With God all things are possible. They are meant to be. So let it happen!

“Whatever else be lost among the years, Let us keep Christmas still a shining thing: Whatever doubts assail us, or what fears, Let us hold close one day, remembering its poignant meaning for the hearts of men. Let us get back our childlike faith again.”-Grace Noll Crowell
“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby,
keeping watch of their flocks at night.
An angel of the Lord appeared to them,
and the glory of the Lord shone around them,
and they were terrified.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.
I bring you good news of great joy that will for all the people.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.”-Luke
Merry Christmas and May God be with you all your days. Best wishes Becca

Granted Christmas is stressful yet it is also one of the most beautiful times of the year. More people laugh, hope, and think about their fellow man. One of the best blessings of doing these things is the energy they carry thus feeling up our soul with joy.
If only we could have that swelling of joy and hope all year round. How wonderful would that be. Ahh but we can! If we would continue to hope, think about others and do things we normally wouldn’t do we would invite this wonderful spirit and power of miracles into our every day.
Why am I talking about this now when we are in the heat of getting everything done by Christmas Eve? Two reasons: so that we will remember the true spirit of Christmas and slow down a little allowing ourselves to breath in the crisp air…to hear the wonderful sound of Christmas carols… So we would stop and notice the smiles of children and people as they just found the perfect gift for someone they love…Most of all so that we will realize that these are all things we can choose to do every day of the year.
God Bless you and may you truly find peace and joy in this Holiday season…a time of Miracles.

Right now most everyone one is running scared. Most of our neighbors and co-workers feel doomed by the economy and the financial struggles the world is facing.
It’s as if they are lost in a thick dense forest with no clue how to find their way out. Are you lost in a forest? Or have you found a leader who knows the way out? A Leader who can not only show you the way out but where the sunshine is? I am so excited that I am in a leadership position and know the way out the forrest. I am living the American dream and I know you can too. There are always people who come out of tough times ahead and highly successful because they believed they could. “To win without risk is to triumph without glory.”-

You know we can’t have it both ways. We can’t win or succeed or live up to our potential without risk. What are you willing to risk to get where you want to get?
