ReadJunk.com Blogs are now live
If you don't know already, ReadJunk.com opened up a new section on the site: Blogs. So I'm not gonna be updating this blog anymore, just because I don't want to get in trouble with google for posting duplicate content. So head over to my blog at:
http://www.readjunk.com/blogs/bryan
or read all the blogs here:
http://www.readjunk.com/blogs
Eventually i'll figure out how to make the blogs able via email subscriptions and xml feeds but for now, just bookmark the pages and keep going back. You know, the old way of doing things haha.

Authority Zero Photos @ Knitting Factory, NYC
Authority Zero is a punk band from Arizona that I've been a fan of for a few years now and I finally got the chance to see them live. They were suppose to play at the Warped Tour I went to but they were told no at the last minute. But I got to see them put on their energetic live show and took some pictures of them as well. It was the first time that I had my new camera lens so I was itching to try it out. It's a great lens but the club's lighting isn't that great so a lot of the pictures still came out blurry. Granted I was taking pictures from the balcony most of the set, I still got some decent photos. At one point, I was right in front, with my big lens in my pockets (yes it fit surprisingly). I was using my other prime lenses and avoiding getting hit or sucked into the mosh pit. I think the highlight for me was seeing a drunken guy grab the singer's leg and then the guitarist kick him on the head haha. Sadly I didn't get that on camera. But here's a few pictures from the show:

The proud owner of the Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 lens
I'm now the proud owner of the special Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 lens! It's a lens I wanted for a year now, but wasn't daring enough to spend the money for it until now. 2 weeks ago, I was cruising the B&H Photo website (like I always do when I'm bored). I saw the lens for used, and with a rating of 9+ so I was pretty much getting a new lens for used. In the end, I saved about 300-400 bucks so it was a no brainer to get this. I haven't tried it at a show yet but I'm hoping I can get some great shots with it soon!It might even be too big for the type of shows I've been going to lately, but this lens will make me stand out from the other photographers. Or at least I'm hoping. I'm getting pretty serious about photography now so my next step is to actually get more passes to shows, and to shoot for other people besides myself. And in the end, make some kind of side profit from this. I just don't want this to be an expensive hobby like it used to be, I want to get more exposure and get my stuff in magazines and papers. I'm gonna contact the local paper and see about shooting some concerts for them, and gonna submit my work to various magazines. I think I might also try to join some agencies and getting assignments that way. I just have to wait until I'm back from Vegas in 2 weeks. No sense submitting things when I'm not really available haha. But I really don't plan on making a lot from concert photography because I keep hearing it's pretty hard to make anything from it. but its worth a shot to get SOME money from it. It's not like i'm gonna quit my job and live in my car just to take band photos. Though it would be nice to make a living out of this. I just don't think it's gonna happen...

Young Dubliners in Burlington County Amphitheater Photos
I saw the Young Dubliners finally! I've only liked the band for about 10 years now and just got the chance to see them perform. They were awesome, despite playing in front of a crowd filled with white hair people. I got some cool photos of the Young Dubs, and the band loved them as well! So be sure to check them out and support them!
Here's some of my photos:
