Everyday Revisited

The Artists’ Gallery at 32 Coryell Street, Lambertville, NJ will feature the work of photographer Bonnie Schorske and painter Carol McClure Sanzalone in “Everyday Revisited,” November 7th through the 30th. The opening reception is from 6 to 9 PM on Saturday, November 8th.

Sanzalone and Schorske are both interested in taking familiar and everyday subjects and bringing them to life in new and adventurous ways. Their subjects allow them to work with light, color, shape, texture and design to create both realistic and experimental images.

"Spring Explosion"
watercolor by Carol Sanzalone

Sanzalone works in watercolor and acrylic, focusing on the abstract and graphic qualities of still life and landscape subjects seen everyday. She captures the beauty of natural and reflected color, working on site as well as in her studio. Her works have been exhibited in many solo and juried exhibits which have included the Garden State Watercolor Juried Exhibit, Phillip’s Mill, the George School Invitational Exhibit, the Coryell Gallery as well as the University Medical Center and the Present Day Club in Princeton. Having taught art for many years at South Hunterdon Regional High School, she currently teaches watercolor workshops on a freelance basis.

"Dandy"
photograph by Bonnie Schorske

Schorske, a Philadelphia photographer, is inspired by her travels around the world as well as by the everyday urban life of her adopted city. Her work is grounded in the photo-realist tradition. She prefers natural light and eschews the studio. Schorske’s work has been included in numerous juried and invitational shows in the region including shows at Phillip’s Mill, the College of New Jersey, the Philadelphia Sketch Club and the Plastic Club of Philadelphia. She has had solo and group shows at the Philadelphia Sketch Club, Minerva and Off the Wall galleries as well as other venues around the city. The Plastic Club awarded her its gold medal in 2007, only the second time a photographer has been so honored in the Club’s long history as the oldest art club founded by women.

Gallery hours are from 11 AM to 6 PM, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For information visit www.lambertvillearts.com or call (609) 397-4588.
