I was watching a show on the Science channel the other day.. or was it last week? Anyway it was about how they sort through tons of trash to get it ready for recycling. Part of the process involves large magnets that pick out any metals in trash. Then there are jets of air that lift any paper and it gets sucked into another area for sorting.

Eventually what’s left gets to a place where the trash has to be hand sorted. That job can be good or bad. Sometimes the workers find some valuables that have been tossed out by their owners. That’s really one job I wouldn’t want to do. It can’t smell very good in that place! yuk!

I do my part and recycle. I sort the cans, bottles, paper and plastic. After doing all that it gets taken over the recycling center down the street. When I went there to dump my cans I could see that someone evidently belongs to a wine of the month club. There were tons of empty wine bottles in the bin.

A lot of people here don’t recycle. When I take the trash out to the dumpsters I can see cans, bottles and paper in with the trash. It’s not hard and it doesn’t take but a few seconds to recycle. I have one can for trash, one for cans and glass bottles and a paper bag for paper. It’s just so easy to put things where they need to go.

I’m sitting here waiting on Andi to fill out that form and put it in her printer/scanner and send it back to me. I want to be able to take it to work with me tomorrow to fax back to the Senators office so we can get this thing going.

I had a comment on another post from someone who gave me the will to keep on going. He told me I’m doing the right thing. He wrote:

Hey Mom,

From an Army Warrant - A couple of comments for you which you don’t have to post but I felt you should hear them.

1) Andi sounds like she has her head on straight. Thats a good thing and rare in many Junior enlisted soldiers. You should be proud!
2) Andi’s PA is trying to do the right thing.
3) Andi’s Command is under a tremendous amount of pressure to field “at strength”. I’m not excusing them, there is no excuse but thats whats happening - especially at Compnay level. The BN Commander will be in a shit fiz if this goes Congressional so keep it up.
4) If this goes Congressional, Andi will probably be looking at an MEB after surgery unless they say she is good to go in which case she will deploy after a fair recovery.
5)Make sure Andi copies everything in her medical record about this and sends it to you before she deploys, especially the memorandum stating deployed against surgeons recoomendations. After she gets out, having that in her medical record will be very beneficial in her efforts to get her VA disability, which she will have earned and paperork has a habit of dissappearing from the records of kidsin medical units. Yeah, you work in the TMC so we’ll just do this on the down low.
6) Kepp your chin up and tell Andi to do the same. Its nothin but a thing.

I’m going to have nice warm feet this winter. I got a pair of Uggs look-a-like boots. They’re called BearPaws and they are so comfortable. The best thing was the price. I got mine for around $50 whereas the Uggs cost a whole lot more than that.

I bought them off of Amazon.com and came by Fed-ex yesterday. I was worried that they wouldn’t be able to find my place (my door still doesn’t have a number on it), but the Fed-ex guy found it.

I got them at the perfect time too. The temperatures are supposed to only be in the 40’s this week! brrrrrrrr!!! I should check out an online trading place and see how their stock is doing.

Today is a windy, warm, cloudy, misty and basically nasty day out. I had to go to CVS and pick up a prescription refill and I also got some Gold Bond ultimate lotion to try out. I can see a difference with just one use so far.

I also stopped at WaWa and got some smokes and my hazlenut/mocha steamer (16 oz). I think the coffees at WaWa are so much better than coffee you get at coffee franchises and they’re much cheaper too.

Now I’m doing laundry, emptying the dishwasher, cleaning bathrooms, etc.. such a fun day.. don’t you think? *NOT*

I was reading a bulletin that was posted on MySpace. Someone was asking for donations to send to our troops. There was only one comment to the bulletin when I read it and it was a hater. He said “If our f*****g soldiers have enough time to play games and use s**t like that they should just come home. This is stupid. WHY post something like this? ipods and mp3 players maybe but come on, xbox, ps2, ps3 games? they don’t need that s**t come on. this bulletin was a f*****g joke and disgrace.”

People who say crap like that make me want to grab a hold of them a beat them senseless with a Cobra golf club or two. I’d love to see this guy spend just one day in a warzone and see exactly what it’s like for our troops over there.

Today, at work, I got a phone call from Senator Menendez’s office. They are going to try and help Andi! They faxed me a paper that I had to send to Andi to fill out and send back to me. Then I have to fax it to the Senator’s office on Monday morning and they’ll get right on it!

I sent emails to 6 different people and Senator Menendez is the only who responded.. so far. That just made my day.. and Andi’s.
