Let's Change Things Up

Hey everyone, it's been a while I know, but I'm back! Since my last post back in February of 2012 I mentioned that I had begun writing news at FPSGuru and writing monthly articles for Hooked Gamers. Unfortunately, I didn't stay with Hooked Gamers for long, only writing a few reviews and previews. Although, with FPSGuru after a few months of volunteering, I switched to salary, then became the Managing Editor of the site and oversaw just about everything. As of this month, things are starting to change let's just say.

Why There Hasn't Been Much Activity

For those of you that frequently come to my blog, Snakester's Gaming Zone, you'll notice I haven't made any posts as of lately. While I still may make a post randomly or review here, I've currently taken the time to focus on writing on other sites.

First there's FPSGuru.com which is a site focused on delivering news, features, interviews, and more about First Person Shooters mainly. Although also covers Third Person Shooters, so don't be surprised if you see one. FPSGuru is also part of the MMORPG.com network that excels. I started news writing at FPSGuru like a week and a half ago and have written 23 articles there already about news. Why not head on over and check out some of my stuff. Maybe make an account and post comments on my articles. My username is Snakester95, so I'll respond to your comments under that name. But you can tell who wrote each article by reading their name at the bottom of it. We offer tons of interesting content and I'd definitely suggest looking into it if you're and FPS gamer!

Then there's Hooked Gamers which gathers a grand audience to update daily with gaming news, interviews, features, previews, and more. Similar to FPSGuru, but they're more open and cover everything. Hooked has a large team of over 30 members and has been around since 2005 and has definitely made an impact on gaming journalism. I've currently only written a preview there for XCOM: Enemy Unknown. My job there only requires me to write a preview there once a month and I'll be sent an assignment for what is needed. I'd definitely suggest following these guys as they're a friendly bunch and very active.

MW3 FFA Mission - There Shall Be No Sniping

Here's a quiet commentary of me playing some Free for All in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, on Mission. Didn't win it, but came close in second. Enjoy!

Resident Evil 6 Logo Looks Funny

With all the hype going around as of recently for Resident Evil 6 coming up, I'm sure you've come across this logo several times on several articles. Looks pretty cool, pretty casual, or is it?

MW3 Bootleg - Screw UAV's Commentary

A commentary of me playing some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Bootleg, Team Deathmatch. You'll quickly learn I'm not too fond of UAV's, especially when the enemy team decides to keep popping UAV's. Although I probably destroyed at least half of them. Surprisingly UAV's can be very useful in Call of Duty, along with previous titles in the franchise. Not a load of people choose the UAV as it's too early on and they want something better. But, UAV's reveal where your enemies are, prevent them from sneaking up on you, and let you predict a variety of their movements or planning. Which ends up allowing you to flank them or catch them off guard. Well, check out the video and enjoy!

A Game of Dwarves Trailer

A Game of Dwarves was just recently announced two days ago by Paradox in Sweden, being developed by Zeal Game Studios. It allows you to take on controlling a whole dwarf settlement starting out with something small soon to discover a completely randomly generated dungeon. You'll find yourself having to manage your band of dwarves between digging, building, and defending. You may see a bit of Dwarf Fortress influence over A Game of Dwarves as it's a strategy builder and well, has dwarves. Along with a little of Dungeon Keeper as to breaking walls and having to fight off creatures while exploring about. A Game of Dwarves is expected some time in 2012, but is currently still in the early stages of development.
