alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Fireworks

Each November the company holds a fireworks display and bonfire. This year the job to organise the event was given to me. I love organising things (from the 'Kuda fun bus' to the department's Christmas Party), so I jumped at the chance!

Previous years I've only been a spectator, and so it was brilliant to see what is actually involved in organising such a large event. Months of preparation for a few hours entertainment!

All of my worrying that I'd forget something or things wouldn't go to plan was for nothing, as the day dawned everything was arranged (double checked and triple checked!) and ready for everyone to arrive. And arrive they did! I've never seen so many cars in the car park - it was crazy!

The fireworks were as amazing as usual and luckily it was a clear night for us, so that we could actually see them!

The guy compeitition was judged and the guys burned, and the raffle drawn. With everyone happy with their prizes - apart from one of the lad on quotes who won a Bratz 'Girlz Really Rock' Doll! He looked rather bemused to say the least!

All in all I think the night was a success with everyone enjoying themselves and 'oooing' and 'ahhing' at the fireworks - well I haven't heard anyone complaining about anything!!

Unfortunately, I didn't get chance to take any pictures, but there's always next year!

You cant beat a good night out in the boro! anyone thats been will know what I mean.

You start in the College Arms, its quiet and cheap, then over to Yates, cos were feeling a bit braver now and might want to start tapping our toes to some tunes, out of there and a quick one in O'neils, its always shit but you gotta have a quick beer and a look around, then stagger to chicagos, its £2 a drink, so get sloshed at the bar, 5 drinks in 30 minutes is always good and then its on to the dance floor to bust some shapes cos by now we are the best dancers in the place! ha! always a good night!

alt='Sarah' title='Sarah' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Go-Karting...................

My usual day of fun would be relaxing in a spa with friends, shopping or having my hair done. But when my team manager at Adrian Flux offered us a day out Karting I just couldn't resist, and the best thing of all was that it was mostly paid for by the company....how nice is that!!
We arrived at the track and it was pouring with rain, I wasn't keen to be honest as didn't want to get soaked and hoped secretly that they would call it off. But I'm glad they didn't as I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!

We did a few practice laps and we were placed in our teams. There were 7 teams with two people in each. I was team 5 and started off in second place. At first I was a bit scared as the track was so wet from the rain and I was sliding all over the place but after a few laps I got the hang of it and whizzed around the track!! I was loving it so much that I didn't care that my face was covered in mud and my mascara had run and quite frankly I looked a mess :- ) It was then time to swap with my team mate so he could have a go ( I didn't want to give the kart to him but I had to share I suppose, after all the purpose of the day out was team building!!)

The checkered flag was in sight and the race came to an end. I checked the leader board to see if I was last, and to my complete amazement............we won!!!! Team 5 was victorious!!
We took our position on the 1st placement podium and was awarded our trophy.
I can now honestly say that Go-karting is my ideal fun day out - bring on the paintballing!!

alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>MaxPower Vs Flux Calendar shoot

Last month babes Penny, Charlie, Gemma, Sam, Laura and myself went along to the Max Power offices in Peterborough to have some shots done for their 2009 calendar, with some the MaxPower babes.

The venue was a freezing cold garage in the middle of nowhere – seriously. I’m surprised we managed to find our way home! It totally stumped Brian who didn’t find us until we were back on the A47! Really handy Brian!

However, despite the early morning, late finish and the cold ‘studio’, as predicted the shots look amazing and were well worth it!

We even had the company of Elvis for the day. He didn’t sing though. But he did get lots of attention from us girls!
Here are some behind the scenes shots – to see the real thing, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until the end of the year…it’s worth it though…

alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Science Geeks

Being bit of a geek, and to follow on from our visit to the history Museum at the start of the year, LOG and I spent a day at the Science Museum. LOG wasn’t as excited about this museum though due to the lack of dinosaurs. I was.

After wandering round the museum for a couple of hours looking at the space stuff and rockets, cars and planes, playing the ‘In future’ games, and cringing at the medical history area, we stopped for some lunch feeling rather pleased with ourselves. Only to discover that we hadn’t even seen half of the place!

We visited the Who Am I? section, according to one of the games (cough they're aren't only for kids cough) I have a female brain. Good job really. I also discovered that there is a phobia of left-handed objects. Being a lefty myself I took offence, there aren't even that many things designed for lefties, and the things that are can be useless. I've never know a pair of sharp left-handed scissors.

We visited the Science and Art of Medicine floor. I rather wish that we hadn't as some of the instruments and 'tools' looked rather unfriendly and made my plams go sweaty. However, there was a funny, if not odd, portrait of a woman looking miserable titled 'A Portrait of the Mad', in the mental health area. Apparently it's one of the few portraits of mad people at the time...see odd and slightly funny because of the randomness...
Next came Launchpad, the hands on part of the museum, mainly designed for kids, but that didn't stop us! we spent an age in front of the heat sensitive camera, playing with the various masks they had, LOG built a bridge, we played with magnets, and I spents ages on a game that you could play various noises at different speeds to wathc the lines on a graph thing change, depending on the speed. As you can tell, I took no noice of the science side of it, I just found it hilarious making a cow moo at high speed!

Luckily, we managed to see everything before the end of the day and headed home with sore feet and a whole load of new science knowledge.....kind of....

alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Rocking at the Met Lounge!

Last month, the band my brother's in had a return gig at the Met Lounge in Peterborough. As usual with the 'away' gigs a coach load of us fans went along to show our support.

The coach trips are always fairly interesting and eventful with things like the driver not being sure where they're going to people running late and chasing the bus down the road!
This time the drivers sat-nav did a Brian on us and got lost, luckily as Peterborough's fairly local, one of the lads on the coach knew the way!

We got to the Met Lounge in plenty of time, and as per usual I was asked for id! I would say it's flattering, but I really don't think I look 17....it's quite worrying actually...for now anyway!!
When Kuda took the stage, it turned out the 'Kuda' chant from the Emergenze competition hadn't been forgotten, and so the Kuda fans took up the chant!
Kuda were brilliant, and gave an awesome performance which included, Dom on the floor playing his bass and Mark drumming from the front of the kit! The 2 other bands who played rocked, and everyone had a great night!

Somehow, I've also inherited a Ted Baker t-shirt that was left on the coach at the end of the night, and still hasn't been claimed!! Why someone had a spare t-shirt with them I'm not sure!
Can't wait for the next gig!

alt='Gemma' title='Gemma' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Marham Track Day

This weekend Our local Royal Air Force Camp in Marham held a track day on their air craft run way...  As Adrian Flux were the sponcers of the event, a few of us babes paid a visit to check out everyones pride and joys!

There was such a range of motors being taken round the track, it didn't matter if you had a 900cc corsa .......or a ferrari, it was the taking part that counted!
Me and sammi were even lucky enough to be taken for a spin in some ones beauty ... that was an experience I'll never forget I can Tell you!

alt='Jade' title='Jade' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Wembley

I was Lucky to go to Wembley, it is a massive and a great atmosphere, as you can see by the sky the weather was not too great!!

Portsmouth were playing Manchester United in the Community Shield, it was a OK game, No Goals and went to Penalties.
I went with My boyfriend and his Brothers, who are devoted Portsmouth fans, and me secretly being a Man United Supporter (my boyfriend trying to Sway me though....... not going to Work) made the day very interesting.

My Favourite Part of the day was seeing My all time Favourite Ryan Giggs - What a Legend.

However a Trip to Wembley ain't Cheap. We had to sit in the Platinum seats and Fish and Chips for £9.00 - stings your Purse!!

I sat on the Pompey side all day - keeping Stum!! :)

alt='Sarah' title='Sarah' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>New York, New York!!

Earlier in the year Kelly my fellow Fluxbabe and I went to New York and it was amazing!

When we arrived we wandered over to Times Square to have a bite to eat and found a lovely little Mexican Restaurant. We didn't stay out long as we were so tried after our flight (or probably something to do with our heavy night of alcohol abuse in the Hilton at Heathrow the night before!) so we headed back to our hotel.

The next morning I was up and ready for our day of sight seeing. I had it all planned!! We jumped in a Taxi down to Statton Island Ferry and took it across to the see Statue of Liberty. It was absolutely freezing on the ferry and I'm sure Kelly was cursing me as I think she would have preferred to be chilling out in Central Park or shopping!!

Anyway, I think she would agree it was definitely worth it.

That evening we walked up to the Rockafeller Centre to see the sights at night. It was a beautifully clear night and the views were spectacular. The bright lights and the buzz of the city below were sensational. From the top you could see the Empire State Building in all its glory.

The Next morning we were up at the crack of dawn for another day of sight seeing!! We sat in Bryant Park with a Starbucks coffee waiting for the doors of the Empire State Building to open. We waited in the queues to reach the top and once again we were greeted with fabulous views.
You could see for miles.
After taking about a million pictures, we left and decided to have a walk around the city. We came across New York's Public Library, Maddison Square Garden and then Maceys. We did a little shopping and then trekked to Fifth Avenue. We then came across Prada, Gucci, Elizabeth Arden, Versace, but needless to say we didn't do any shopping in there!
Then it came to our last day, we bought a few NYC souvenirs and decided to spend the last day chilling in Central Park. We walked from our hotel and came across an Easter Parade, everyone was dressed up in the most wonderful of costumes and the Easter bonnets were something that Blue Peter would definitely be proud of!!

We sat in Central Park and enjoyed the various street comedians and dancers that would just appear from nowhere and then just relaxed watching the world go by.
It was then time to leave this mesmerising city and say goodbye to The Big Apple!!!

alt='Keely' title='Keely' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Cuba and Hurricane Gustav and Ike...

As you can see from my awesome picture (ha) and the title I have recently come back from a 2 week holiday in Cuba, we stayed in a town called Varadero and it was BEAUTIFUL!! The beach, the hotel, the pool, the people, everything! was just wonderful!!! I went with my ever patient friend Nicola (below, with a very happy Chris peeking in! ha) and I have to say it was the best holiday I have ever been on! Also the worst... but that was only because of the hurricanes and if you will choose to go on holiday somewhere during hurricane season I guess you can't whinge too much! ha! The first picture was taken in Havana, Cuba's capital. Havana was a real experience and I would definitely recommend visiting if you ever go to Cuba, even if its the only excursion you do! The people are so friendly and the buildings and way of life are just something you have to see. Now obviously as I mentioned earlier... we did get stranded in the hotel for a few extra days because of Hurricane Gustav at the beginning of the holiday but that only really lasted a day. The worst hurricane was Ike but then all that really happened was a LOT of wind and rain and we were very lucky not to have been more on the west coast of Cuba where a lot of Cubans lost their homes.
Whilst we were stuck in the hotel all the friends we made on holiday began to congregate by the bar... and after a lot of card games and drinking I have to say these lot are now firm friends!! Thank goodness for Facebook ay? Its so nice to be able to keep track of new friends so easily!
So the moral of the story is... go to Cuba, visit Havana AND DON'T GO DURING HURRICANE SEASON!!

alt='Charlie' title='Charlie' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Bridesmaiding it up!

At the beginning of September this year a couple of my best buddies tied the knot! The childhood sweethearts have been together for nearly ten years! So it was about time!!

I was one of five bridesmaids... thought I'd show you all a pic of me looking all girly in pink (a bit more covered up than usual in this pretty floor length dress...)

It was a such wonderful day, the weather held out for us, the food was fab and the venue looked amazing - thanks to all Hannah's hard work and organisation! They really are great together and I'm wishing them all the best for the future. I'm just jealous I couldn't sneak a place in their suitcases for the honeymoon!

alt='Charlie' title='Charlie' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>SOCCER AID

I headed down to London on Sunday for my first trip to the new Wembley Stadium...

The charity football match, originally set up by Robbie Williams, who had to pull out this year because of a knee injury, raises money for the children's charity UNICEF and it all kicked off at Wembly last Sunday, where we saw 'England' take on the 'Rest of the World'

The highlights for me had to be ...Craig David, The legendary ref Pierluigi Collina injuring himself and getting stretchered off! a hatrick from Shearer, Gareth Gates looking totally out of place, discovering that Westlife(well Nicky) actually deserve a bit of credibility and did I mention Craig David!

All in all it was a great evening - but I can't wait to get back to the Emirates for some proper football!!

"Theo! Theo! Theo!"

alt='Keely' title='Keely' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>V festival!!!!!

As you can see me and my friend Nicola went to V Festival last weekend and it was fab!! We had been looking forward to it for ages and it didn't disappoint.

Amy Winhouse was a little late and looked a little tiny but at least she was there- wahoo! and sang WAHOO!! ha.

We went to the Chelmsford V fest and got tickets for the Sunday. Lenny Kravitz (opposite) was amazing and really made my friends day/week/year because she is totally besotted with him and I have to admit he is looking good for a man in his late forties!! yummy!

Me and Nic spent rather a lot of time watching the Sloggi dancers and in the Bacardi tent then anywhere else, ha but we sneaked in a few other artists!

Like my faves!! Girls Aloud, I love them! they are all so gorgeous and I love their songs!!! Cheryl looked amazing I can't believe how hard they must work as they played at the other V sat and Peterborough Saturday night. They are hardcore.

Finally a little piccy of me and Nic, its an awful pic of me- boo, but we spent so much time messing about in the Bacardi tent I hardly remembered to take any pictures!! ha ha!

Either way, as always lots of fun whenever I see Nic and I would definatley go next year, hopefully we can get weekend tickets next time!!

alt='Charlie' title='Charlie' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>2008 Olympics

I can't remember ever taking a real interest in the Olympic games! Other than the odd race here and there years ago in the summer holidays when there was nothing else on TV. But other than that I never even knew there was sailing, boxing and even football involved! I suppose I just thought it was track events - a bit like a big school sports day really...

So to get quite caught up in it this year was a bit of a shock! I've even been watching in the mornings when I'm getting ready for work! and catching up on the day's events. What's even more of a shock is that we're (at the time of writing) now 3rd in the medals table!!! and have won the most gold medals sine 1920.

(I don't think they look quite as good as we do in the lycra though!)
I'm feeling very proud of all our athletes! and feeling even better about being ahead of the aussies! :) Lets just hope it stays that way!

I doubt very much whether we can top Beijing's opening ceremony when we host the games in 2012! It will be interesting to see what our guys come up with. But medal wise - I reckon we'll be on top form! Until then lets keep our fingers crossed for team GB

Finally!!! Here are some of the pictures from Bug Jam at Santapod! Sorry it took so long! As most of you know Bug Jam was actually on 18th,19th and 20th July! Well I hope the pictures were worth the wait!

Flux Babes- Penny, Rachelle & Me (Keely) went for the Saturday and Sunday. We were there helping our our sister company HIC on the Just Kampers stand. If you were there and lucky enough to see one of us you may have even got yourself a Just Camper keyring or mousepad!

If you did, you would have been very lucky to have got a mousepad because they went like hotcakes! They were all gone by saturday lunch time. But they were rather cool Camper-shaped ones though, I wanted one for myself- sniff.

The picture above is of me, Penny & Rachelle posing by a really cool bay camper! We were all converted to VW's that weekend I think! The campers were soooooo cool! But the coolest VW there had to be Just Campers 'VanCake'! They made the worlds lowest VW Transporter! It was brilliant to watch them making it- if a little dangerous as we got a bit closer.... theres no holding the Flux babes back! ha! I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it but they managed to get it painted and everything in 3 days!!! and the plan was to race it on the Santapod race track!

Opposite is a VW I fell totally in love with, its called a 'Bootle'....awwwwww! Sorry I know its really girly to call a car 'cute' but- godamit! it is! There was even a little storyboard leaning on it too, showing the making of the bootle which made it even more endearing! I want one!!!!!!!

I am seriously considering getting a VW (most likely a bug!) as lets face it, it has to be more reliable than my car- and much cooler! Plus I really want to go again next year and so obviously I will need a VW if im goin to camp! Otherwise it will just be embarrassing!

Below is a picture of Penny, Rachelle & me in front of one of the many cool split screen campers that were in top condition. The interiors were spotless and so well done. I do like it when the interiors are all colour co-ordinated and there was cute little finishes like cushions etc- you know how us girls like decorative cushions!

We were there Sunday to, til the end -Hardcore babes you see! and our main job that weekend was to advertise Just Kampers competition which was a years free insurance. 2nd and 3rd prize were Just Kampers vouchers- very helpful too all those VW fans restoring their cute little campers!

Of course there were some more 'manly' VW's which I also loved, like the VW camper pickup at the top. I was really interested in the VW's that had been restored to look a bit rusty and 'used'. I was asking all the owners loads of questions and i still feel like I know hardly anything! Next time I go I could really do with brushing up on my VW facts as I felt rather limited in my knowledge, especially in comparison to the dedicated VW owners.

Oh and I think we should camp too! Although... I would most likely look a LOT less glamourous. Yes, I probably shouldn't admit to it but we did stay in a hotel that weekend with all the lovely mod cons....and a indoor loo! Maybe next year...maybe!

Below is a rather fab looking tank we liked the look of! We basically leapt at the owner and thankfully he agreed to let us have a seat. I think this should have been our transport for the weekend, it certainly would have been very useful in getting through the crowds! mu ha ha!

The whole weekend was really sunny and beautiful weather, poor Rachelle was kicking herself for leaving her sunglasses in her car! As you cab see in the background there was even a funfair!!! It looked really fun but unfortunately we didn't get a chance to even go on the bumper cars. We work so hard- sigh! ha ha.

All in all it was great weekend, everyone was smiling and friendly and the cars and campers were awe inspiring. The time and love that classic VW owners spend on their vehicles really shows and I will definately be there next weekend even if I go as a non-babe!

alt='kels' title='kels' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Marbella

Just had a weekend in Marbella on a hen weekend, the weather was fantastic and the hotel was great and so was the company (mainly semi naked guys, he, he) I had a fab time although boots have messed up my pics so these two are the only two I have! One was taken by the girls and one was taken by a group of lads we met! guess which one the lads took?

alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Party time

Yesterday saw babe Keelys younger sister turning 21, so to celebrate this, last Friday saw half of the Flux staff and many others turning out for her fancy dress party.

Leah decided against a theme so the fancy dress was anything goes! From Captain Jack Sparrow to a lifeguard to Cruella De Vil! The birthday girl herself transformed into Aphrodite, whilst babes Keely, Rachelle and myself were Marie Antoinette, a raver and a flapper girl!

The best dressed of the evening for me had to be John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg (aka LOG and COG) from the 1981 Wimbledon men’s final. They even went as far as recreating the match outside…obviously I would never condone the use of children as a net – but they volunteered.

Everyone had a great time, the outfits were brilliant and the main thing was everyone succeeded in getting the birthday girl rather tipsy!!

Happy Birthday Leah!!
