Is kind of hard to describe and write about what happen in Bali last month, it all begins with a dog bite in Jimbaran / Ungasan Hill area and surprisingly that the dogs bite ending up with the dead of the victims, investigation rushly has made by health department and authorities to find the true of the possibilities if the dogs are infected by rabies and the victims are dead because of it. Bali authorities for a long time believe that rabies will never infected Bali dogs as the strict screening are applied to pets animal entering Bali also that there is no other local dogs may enter Bali.
The Rabies case in Bali again shocking to whoever concern about how relaxing Bali institutions arewhen it come to the point of public services and safety, of course there is a dilemma and opini about whos going to responsible and what department to blame for :-)
The governor of Bali giving a direct instruction to exterminate wild Bali dogs which indeed scatered all over the place from traditional markets, beaches and street to stop the spread of this rabies virus.
I hope this sensitive health issue is not affecting to much in stopping traveller from visiting Bali while the global monetary crisis also take part of degrading the number of visitors.
Suprisingly, Bali has no ready stock of rabies vaccine so the vaccine must be 'imported' from center of livestock department - Jakarta, I wish that the government of Bali more attentive to the surrouding instead of wait until something bad happen and affecting the whole tourism industry which in term are make the life of people in Bali harder.
Remebering that how Bali government are so sure that Bali will remain save and sound from the touch of terrorism, and suddenly Bali was blown up by those 3 bombers in 2002 and now the same thing happen again by convidently said that Bali is save from Rabies until a few person dead from this virus infection through dog bite, shame, shame...
