I celebrated my 26th birthday on Wednesday,3 days ago. A very special day spent with my family and sisters in law with my dear nephew Mathdenzel. I cooked food just for us and hubby bought me cake, card and flower. I love them and I will always treasure moments like that one because my husband wouldn't care of spending ample amount of cash (simple but extravagant presents) just to show how much he cares for me as his wife. For my birthday, I made a post that listed the things I achieved in life,I posted it on my blog POINTS OF VIEW but here's the copy just for you
...thanks!
" Changes at twenty-six"...
I am 26 years and 3 days old. At this age, I know I should have been very productive, money wise. I am not but I am happy. I am going to list the things I have accomplished with the number of years, months and days. - I have a gorgeous 1 year, 10 months and 8 days old daughter.
- I married for 4 years, 2 months and 29 days.
- I stepped foot in Ireland for 2 years, 7 months and 12 days.
- Have not seen my family for the same period with the days I spent in Ireland.
- I have three nephews and one niece since 3 years, 10 months and 18 days.
- I have been blogging for a year and 3 months.
- I bought my own computer with the money I earned from blogging 9 months and 14 days now.
- I have lived in this place (house) for 7 months and 15 days now.
- I learned that it isn’t good to spend money extravagantly; the government announced recession 6 months ago.
- Friends come and go. I’d met many of them since I was 16. Therefore, for 10 years and 3 days I have known many friends but couldn’t remember some now. However, I know I have childhood friends I have that I know will be there forever.
- I’ve lost a precious little one whose 11 weeks and 4 days in my tummy.
- That was 4 months and 12 days ago.
- I should be having another baby in 2 months and 8 days time, if only God permitted.
I know there are still many things that I needed to discuss, but these things are the highlights to what I achieved for the past 26 years and 3 days.
I’ve been thinking of linking my email address to my domain name. I have a blog that is hosted freely and I can’t do anything more. But, I am thankful in anyway because I don’t have to pay a cent per month. This thought came to my mind when I’d come across with a friend’s website. His email address that’s link to his name.com sounded very professional. He also linked a forum to his name.com and I couldn’t think of anything else but to do the same. I am doing paid blogging part time and for advertisers to feel that I am serious with this job; I should invest on my website, right?
Well, good enough that I know just where to get the cheapest and more reliable website hosting. They have an article that tells more on choosing the right web host provider, the ups and downs of such hosting and a lot more. They offer comparison with thousands of providers with the ratings that have been carried out properly to give us what we just need.
As you may notice, this blog is a sub domain. But I do have my domains and I think of subscribing in the nearest future. If you are looking for a web host provider, you should visit webhostingrating.com now.
I have not made a lot of friends; it’s only the old friends that I've met since I came here. Thanks to my husband who is as sociable as anybody else. He’s got friends in and outside the congregation. But the best friends he/we have are those who really cared for us. It is good to get to know some of our folk home, too. It is from them that I knew about hiring someone to cook for Shiela's birthday or any other occasion a.k.a CATERS...
It’s such a shame (honestly) that I’d exerted effort on cooking foods that took me time to think about. I’d had hard times whether or not to carry out the party because first, we do not have the venue and second the things needed. Thanks for Alaister who offered us chairs from the church and to Prudence who gave us a helping hand. Well, we've just attended a birthday party invitation today. Thanks to Cheyna, the celebrant for including us among her invited guests, and to Len (her sister) for being good since the day we met. And to her humble and beautiful family too…
Being with "kabayans" is too delighting. Not just the food but the conversations, laughs and the singing! I miss videoke so much! Hush can't wait for more months to finally visit home.
I'd been called to the Philippine Consulate for the final step to have my passport renewed. The first week of processing was done in the UK and I was required to have my signature and thumbs mark on the sealed computer print out.I know that is to be transferred to the computer, hence machine readable passport.
I have about 4-8 weeks of waiting now.The processing will be done in Manila. It won't be necessary for me to keep checking on them as they will just text me,when it is ready to be collected.Everything in the Consul's office is done manually.I remembered queuing there with Shiela, with other people who were there before me.The office as I've said only opens twice a week (Wednesday & Saturday 1PM - 6PM). I was there before 1PM,unfortunately, people were already on the queue. Some are from other counties who came only for that purpose and others requested their days off. While others are trying to meet up with their schedule. There are roughly 5,000-10,000 Filipinos in Ireland and there's only one man doing the HUGE job. It took me 4 hours of waiting.
Others renewed their passports in the UK.I don't need to do that because I am not in a hurry and I don't have money for the re-entry visa here in Ireland and the visa and air fare to the UK.
I blushed when I first met my husband. I shivered and I was speechless. Without my friend’s help, I might have collapsed. The feeling I had before was unexplainable. That wasn’t our first date; we had it online already webcam to webcam. I am what they call a “mail ordered bride”. I met him through a dating website, we exchanged numbers and communicated almost everyday. I never thought our first meeting would be that overwhelming. It felt different from seeing him in person than seeing him through a webcam.
After we met at the airport, we headed to the hotel in which me and friend chose. We didn’t go out after that anywhere else because he was very tired after his 20 hours flight. That’s why I can’t say what my ideal date would be. He’s my first formal boyfriend and I never been out for a date with anybody else. I took a dating quiz online at westeastcafe.eu, and the result is this below;
That was to renew my passport.I am excited to hold that new machine readable passport with a new color. As I've said, I still have ample amount of time to have it done, maybe by next year. But it seems that the processing takes not only what has been said at the UK's embassy's website, as the Philippine consulate here in Ireland has to send it to London then to the Philippines and back here.
I went there last Wednesday. But I first asked my friend Jane about it.What she experienced at the consulate is far difficult that what I had have.Despite on what she said,I managed to finish half of my task. Though I still need to come back for the signature. The total waiting time would be 10-12 weeks.I guess I made the right decision to renew it earlier as we need to have our Garda stamp early next year.Hopefully,by that time, Shadrack's long term residency application will be granted.I am just praying so that I won't need a visa to come back here after our holiday in the Philippines. And he doesn't require a work permit anymore to work here. This new machine readable passport is really a big time job that the DFA in the Philippines is making.
Finally, our waiting time is over. But we are shocked after we learned that Shady only has over a week to prepare for his driving test. The office failed to send his schedule after it has elapsed for a few weeks and only gave us the schedule after we called them.Shadrack's mistake was to say "yes,I am ready!".
Shadrack,my husband stopped driving after the law stated that learner permit holders can't drive alone. While waiting for the test, we decided to suspend our insurance and declared our vehicle as "non-use" to the Motor tax office to avoid paying the tax.We saved money, yes. But the knowledge that Shady gained from his driving school has subsided, slowly.
Now,we want to transfer the 2 hours lessons that I booked months ago.I hope it's possible so that we can save up to €80.It wouldn't matter to me in anyway as I am thinking of going home to Philippines and while there,I will get a course so that when I come back here, I will be confident enough for my driving test.
My passport is soon to expire ten(10)months from now...
And I am excited to renew it since they are changing its color to maroon...same with Shiela's passport color.I guess you already know about this so I am just pasting what I read from the Philippine Embassy in the UK...
EMBASSY FASTRACKS MACHINE READABLE PASSPORT PROCESSING TO JULY 2008
Effective 01 July 2008, the Philippine Embassy in London will be ready to process applications for the machine readable passport (MRP). This will be done side by side with the phasing out of the issuance of the green passport by the end of July 2008.
While it has been announced earlier that the Embassy will officially start accepting applications for MRP in August of 2008, systems are now in place to begin processing the issuance of a more secure passport effective 01 July 2008. This will also allow all passport applicants to obtain the machine readable passport earlier than initially announced in order to facilitate immigration clearance when they travel outside the United Kingdom.
Applicants are kindly advised to personally submit their MRP application form along with three (3) passport size photographs with royal blue background and other requirements as stipulated in the form.
Based on a trial run by the Department of Foreign Affairs on applications received from Philippine foreign service posts, the Embassy is assured by the DFA that the new passports may be claimed within a few weeks after processing.
Ambassador Edgardo B. Espiritu is requesting all kababayans to please bear with the Embassy in this effort to improve the quality and security of the Philippine passport, especially as the personal appearance of all passport applicants shall now be required starting from 1 July 2008.
The Embassy is ready to provide the fullest assistance and support to our kababayans in order to make the transition period as convenient as possible.
London, 25 June 2008 And here's what the new machine readable passport looks like;

What do you think?
I don't mean that I am discouraged but I pity them.My poor people in Pinas are weeding! They got nothing else to do because of the high prices in commodities. My father who is a driver couldn't go drive anymore because there are no passengers.I guess people prefer to walk than paying fare, don't they? What's the use then? The fuel prices are the main concern of my family back home because it's part of my father's livelihood.
I texted them today, updating my situation here.Believe me,they will start wondering and begin to ask if I got no time for them that I don't send them a message or a call.Gush, mahal ang load as they've said so they couldn't just text me for fun!If they do and they don't get a response they also start to ask things.Well, they're doing good.Except that typhoon has again triggered our once wrecked roof!Got to find money now seriously! And they better plant some root crops or else they won't get food to eat
.
I just had a surgery after I miscarried my second baby.If you are following my other blogs too then you must have known about it.I had the surgery 30th of June and everything went well, except for the loss that I felt. I am very sad and I didn't know the reason why it happened.
I have done a lot of things and I am not sure which one caused it.I cleaned the oven using the "extremely flammable" oven cleaner. After that, I went to the city, starved for while.I can't eat what I have in the house,I craved for something inexistent, huh.
Anyway,I don't want to blame much on myself. The doctor said, they are going to investigate the cause and will update us the result.I was also told that the baby might have a serious problem and didn't survive.I still have lots of chances to bear more. But that little life was so precious.Only that GOD has some plans for us.
