The Way to Apply Acrylic Nails

October 15th, 2008 · No Comments

If you have trouble growing your nails, or if you want a quick fix because you are going somewhere special, getting yourself a set of acrylic nails is the next best thing to natural, well-polished nails.

Acrylic nails are artificial nails which you put over your real nails. They last longer than ordinary nail polish set on real nails. Usually, nail polish begins to fade within a week’s time, but when you are using acrylic nails, you need to replace them after only a couple of weeks, so that’s about a week more.

Some acrylic nails come with designs already, so all you have to do is simply glue them on your real nails, polish them a bit, and you’re done. There are also acrylic nails that are plain or colorless, so you can paint some nail polish over them.

Putting on acrylic nails is fun and interesting. You do not have to go to a nail salon just to get a perfect set of acrylic nails because you can do this in your own home. First, prep your nails. Clean them well; remove any nail polish if there is any evidence of it left on the nails. Try to reduce as much cuticle as possible, and trim your nails, as well.

Now that’s done, put nail glue over your nails, and put the acrylic nails on. Trim your acrylic nails according to your desired length. Next, mix liquid acrylic with powdered acrylic and put the mixture over the nails. Then buff, and apply your preferred nail polish.

The process seems so simple, but it can take a lot of practice and patience before you can actually perfect it.

Solar Nails: The Better Option

October 11th, 2008 · 1 Comment

In the past, acrylic nails were almost synonymous to artificial nails. With the advent of solar nails, however, women now have another option when it comes to beautiful, artificial nails.

Solar nails are like getting a French manicure, only it is a lot simpler. Once the nails have been prepped, the two-step application process begins. Usually, the technician brushes the white portion of the French nail, and then the pink part is applied over the white part.

Solar nails are an improved version of acrylic nails. They offer more advantages and benefits, financially, and otherwise. Solar nails may not be less expensive than acrylic nails, but over time, you can gain a lot of savings because you do not have to replace solar nails as often as you would change acrylic nails. In fact, all you have to do is refill them after three weeks, whereas with acrylic nails, you will have to replace them after only a couple of weeks.

Solar nails, too, are stronger and more durable, so you can wear them without worrying that they will get chipped off easily. They are made of a glossy material, so you get nails that have a beautiful and longer-lasting luster. You do not even have to apply a nail polish to achieve that look, because they are already glossy in appearance.

If you are fond of going to tanning salons, but are now hesitant because you are wearing solar nails, here is something to definitely smile about: tanning sessions will not damage your solar nails. They will not even cause any discoloration.

Gel Nails Enhancement: A Way To Great-Looking Nails

October 10th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Gel nails are a hot item these days — especially in

Europe. In fact, most salons in

Europe now are offering gel nails enhancement to their clients.

Gel nails have clear advantages over acrylic nails. They are odorless, lightweight, clear, flexible, and best of all, natural looking. So, if you want an immediate solution to beautiful nails, gel nails enhancement is definitely it!

Gel nails can be used in full nail or tip overlays. They can also be shaped to form nail extensions. Likewise, gel nails can be used to protect the damaged edges of the nails as they grow out.

A gel nails kit typically consists of the basic manicure set, such as files, buffers, tips, and so on, UV light, gels, gel brushes, gel cleansers, and gel wipes. Gel nails enhancement is not easy to do, but it is a technique that can be easily learned.

First, prep your nails, and apply tips if you so desire. Then, apply a thin coat of gel over the nails, and cure. Apply another coat of gel, but this time, add the arches as well; cure once more. Apply a third coat of gel, adding more arches, then cure. Now, clean your nails, shape them according to your preferences, and buff them till they are smooth. Polish your nails, or apply a gloss coat over them.

Achieving a perfect set of nails can be difficult to achieve and maintain, but with gel nails enhancement, you can have beautiful, natural-looking nails in an instant.

Choosing The Right Nail Polish For You

October 8th, 2008 · No Comments

Having clean and well-polished nails can be your best accessory when going to a party. However, with thousands of nail polish colors available, choosing a particular shade can be time-consuming.

Your choice of the color, of course, can be influenced by several factors — personal preference, the color of the dress you will be wearing, and the occasion or the event you will be attending.

For instance, in formal events, you will always look dazzling in red nail polish. Then again, what particular shade will you choose? Try to paint each nail with a different shade of red, and you will see which hue blends well with your skin color.

During the summertime, pastel-colored or bright colored nail polish is fun and exciting, and they look really great if you are wearing flip-flops or sandals. Light pink, light blue, and lilac look wonderful on fair-skinned people. Bright orange is a good choice for darker people.

On the other hand, if it is winter time, go for darker colors. Deep red, dark blue, and dark orange are beautiful colors to experiment with. However, keep your nails short if ever you are going to apply dark-colored nail polish; otherwise, you will look like someone from a horror movie, and that is definitely not the look you would want to achieve.

Choosing a certain nail polish color can be fun. You can go for a sheer fish, a glossy finish, or a matte finish. You can even use two or even three colors on a single nail, instead of going plain.

September 25th, 2008 · No Comments

Solar nails are alike acrylic but solar nails are made with a slightly different material. They are not extensions like other acrylic nails because they are applied directly to your own innate nail.

The 1st thing your nail technician will do to apply solar nails is to brush on the “white part” of the French nail. Then the next application is the “pink part”, which goes over the “white”. The acrylic is the “pink”.

Solar nails are just like a French manicure with all the pampering but without the hassle. They are applied in a 2 step application. After your nails have been prepared for the application by cleaning and buffing your nails and preparing the nail plate then your solar nail application can begin.

Solar nails are long lasting, don’t chip, and also help to strengthen your nails all in a French manicure style. Your nail technician will buff your new solar nails and they’ll be shiny and ready for anything.

Solar nails are the no hassle fake nails. They don’t need to have nail polish so after the pink part is added you are on your way.

Solar nails only need refilled approx. every three weeks. So, they are more economical and convenient than most fake nails.

If you like to tan, solar nails are wonderful as they do not turn yellow as some artificial nails do when you visit your favorite tanning salon.

When you step out with your solar nails you wont need to worry about them lifting off, turning yellow or chipping. Just care about your nails and hands like you always do and you will never have a problem. You will be able to do anything that you normally do without carrying about being easy on your fake nails.

More models and TV stars are using solar nails today. These nails are really for ladies on the go. They can be applied in less time and last so much longer. The ease of caring for these nails is amazing. It will be like your own natural nails.

Your nail technician can explain the great advantages to using solar nails instead of other acrylic nails. You will be so pleased with your new solar nails that you will not want to ever use any other fake nail.

Putting On Fake Nails

September 23rd, 2008 · 1 Comment

Putting on fake nails to make your hands look more beautiful is fast becoming a trend. You can buy cheap fake nails and make them look expensive depending on how you apply them. How can this be done? Follow the simple steps that I am giving below:

Visit a local beauty supply store. Try to find a set of party nails or full well nail tips and nail glue. When buying nails, you can pick up those which are pre-painted and choose a color scheme that fancies your taste; however, if you want to customize them, you can pick up a set that you can paint yourself. Make sure that you will pick up what will fit your own fingernails. You can tell that the size is right when the fake nails won’t hang over the sides.

If you chose the unpolished fake nails, you can decorate their tips before gluing them to your nails or paint them after fastening them. Make sure that you won’t over glue them. Remember that if you do it the wrong way, there is a risk that you might damage your own fingernails. When applying the glue, start from the center while slowly going to the sides. Do not let the glue get on your skin.

Fasten the nail close to your cuticle but make it a point to leave your cuticle untouched. Once you’re done in placing all the fake nails, file them up based on the shape that you want them to have. You would surely come up with something that will look so elegant.

Why Solar Nails are Better

August 20th, 2008 · 7 Comments

Women who are fond of artificial nails may be surprised to discover that solar nails are able to offer them better benefits. Having beautiful nails is always an important aspect of physical beauty. However, most of them nowadays are still stuck with the acrylic or gel types. Contrary to this, solar nails actually have several benefits which may not be easy to achieve with the common artificial types. This article will explain further how the solar variety of artificial nails is actually way better.

Solar Nail Refill

First and foremost, what gives the solar nail its clear advantage is the refill feature. With acrylic nails, it is necessary for you to replace the nails in an interval of two weeks. In the case of the solar nails, moreover, you merely need to refill them for a longer span of after three weeks. This means that you are able to experience better convenience and gain greater savings when compared to using the other varieties of artificial nails.

No Worries When Tanning

With solar nails, you don’t face the worry of damaging your nails during regular tanning sessions. This is a clear advantage since people with artificial nails normally dread going to tanning parlors, as their nails are prone to turning yellow when tanning on a regular basis. Thus, if you are someone who loves to have that golden glow and at the same time maintain the beauty of your nails, solar nails are the way to go.

Strength

Achieving stronger and longer lasting nails is another benefit that you’ll be getting with a solar nail. When it comes to wearing regular artificial nails, caution is always a requirement, since the slightest pressure could cause your nails to break or to disfigure. With the solar type, your nails will be tougher and more resilient to pressure. This is because solar nails are created using sturdy and top quality materials for added and long lasting strength. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about your nails splitting into parts, even when you merely have to dedicate a short time in applying the solar nails.

Not the Extension Variety

Unlike the common artificial types of nails, solar nails are not extensions. This is another benefit inherent in the solar types. With common acrylic nails, it is a standard to add extensions to your natural nails, exposing them to potential damage, especially if used for an extended period. Solar nails on the other hand are certainly not extensions, so your beautiful nails maintain their luster.

Polished Look

Everyone loves looking at shiny and well polished nails. Not only do beautiful nails look neat, they are also a real asset. When you use the acrylic nails, you will most likely use a certain nail polish in order to give your nails a radiant look. However, you can’t expect this shine to last for long, since it will fade eventually after a specific period. When you use a solar nail, you will have that well-polished look that is bound to last longer. This is because solar nails are glossed to begin with, so what you get are nails that shine and attract attention wherever you are.

How to Select a Nail Polish Color?

August 15th, 2008 · 1 Comment

To have great and beautiful and also well-groomed nails it is a very important thing that both men and women can do to look good.
Anyway, with thousands of nail polish colors for women to choose from, picking one that looks great with your skin tone and with yourself can be very hard and difficult.

You can think about what it’s your coloring your nails for. You may say it is a black-tie event, consider what color your dress is. If you didn’t knew by this time, red polish looks great on toenails or fingernails. If you want to match to your skin tone, hold up many and different nuances of red to see what looks best with your skin tone. If you can’t tell you may paint each nail a different hue.

If you want a fun look in the summer for example, try a pastel pink or blue, purple or green on your toes. This is that kind of something that is exposed in flip flops, but hidden in the office. That said, avoid this look on your fingers, if you don’t want to have and like a juvenile look.

For a cool look in the winter, you can try a hue of very dark (almost black) red. Try different shades on your nails to see what looks best with your skin tone. Usually dark pigments with a purple-blue base look better on darker skin and colors with a reddish-orange base look best on lighter and gentle type of skin.

If you want to make your sheer colors show on your nails, start with one coat of a frost color. Then make a coat or two of your sheer.
This thing, will give you a lighter base to work with and will allow you to use less coats to get it to show up.

If you didn’t knew before for dark colors, keep your fingernails very short. This can eliminates a vampy look. Always complete with a shiny and nice topcoat.
Don’t be scared to have fun with color on your toes, but remain to more basic hues on your fingernails.
