Rosebud Area

On Saturday we went for a jog on the beach near Rosebud. It's another doggie friendly zone. (Until daylight savings starts anyway, then we're not allowed on the beach). Had a good time. No other dogs to be seen though. Thats me in the foreground and Winston and Daddy in the back.

I wasn't looking, and mum took this photo! Not really fair is it?

A Funny Thing.....

Something funny happened to me. I havent been jumping on the couch or on the bed lately because every time I tried I had this pulling pain behind my back leg. Now I couldnt tell Mum this so she didnt know what was going on. So I just lived with it and just didnt jump on the bed. Mum lifted me onto the bed at night so I still slept in comfort.

Then yesterday mum was checking all my joints to see if they were sore and discovered a knot behind my back leg. She cut it off and hey presto! Everything is fine! Back to jumping all over the place! ! !

Black Rock Beach - Roamin' Free!

Mum and Dad took us to Black Rock Beach which is a Leash Free Beach from March till October (See last post). Its a nice long beach for a good walk and lots of other doggies to sniff. Had a good time, but as you can see in the photo below, I wasnt going anywhere near that water. It looked to cold!!

Leash Free Areas Melbourne - Dog Beaches - Dog Parks

I thought I would compose a series of links to areas of Melbourne that have Leash free parks or beaches, and a comment if I've been there.

Port Phillip Council - this includes suburbs of: Albert Park, Middle Park, Balaclava, East St Kilda, Elwood, Port Melbourne, Ripponlea, South Melbourne, St Kilda, Windsor. Good page on what beaches/parks you can visit, and when. Has a downloadable map.

Bayside Council - includes suburbs of: Brighton, Brighton East, Hampton, Highett, Sandringham, Black Rock, Cheltenham and Beaumaris. Has a great page with maps and directions to heaps of dog beaches and parks. Have only been to the fenced off area in Brighton, which was a bit small, but lots of other dogs running around if you're just after a quick sniff.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Council - includes suburbs/towns of: Mount Eliza, Mornington, Mount Martha, Dromana, Rosebud, Sorrento, Portsea, Flinders, Bittern, Hastings, Tyabb, Baxter, Pearcedale, and everything in between. Downloadable map showing lots of areas to roam free. I've been to 2 of them, I think its called Uralla Reserve, but I'm not sure. Its a great area for exploring. Usually dont see any other pooches, but sometimes the occasional cow. Lots of trees and hilly. A good run! The other one is Mt Eliza Regional Park. This was big and flat and a few other dogs around to sniff.

Stonnington Council - Includes suburbs of Armadale, Glen Iris, Malvern, Malvern East, Prahran, South Yarra, Toorak, Windsor. Not a bad page on areas to visit.

Moonee Valley - A few parks available. Shows Mel Refs.

Kingston - Couldn't find much on many areas but the foreshore.

Whitehorse - Couldn't find anything on their website.

Manningham - Not much to be had.

Hobsons Bay - Downloadable PDF file.

Brimbank
- Good looking web page about the stuff.

City of Melbourne - Good page with lots of info. Can even get a 'pack' in the mail. Wonder if it comes with some poop bags.

Darebin - Nice map. Even says cats can go to these areas. Guess they didnt want to discriminate.
